Reggaeville Review: Indubious “From Zero” [OUT TOMORROW!]
“Borders, whether national borders or cultural ones, have the function of building a coherent inner system within the broader lines by excluding the outside from the inside. But overcoming cultural boarders may evolve in great transculturation projects. In the case of the band Indubious, the musicians bypass musical genre borders, going beyond reggae traditions, combining roots, dub, electronic, and psychedelia to give rise to a new genre: rootstronica.
The North American West Coast band Indubious, comprising the brothers Spencer and Evan Burton, release their brand new full-length album From Zero which will be moving and inspiring for everyone who is into the combination of roots and electronic music.
From Zero is a collection of 14 songs and the first album that is completely self-produced by Spencer and Evan. They have released it through their own label Righteous Sound Productions. The mastering credits go to Michael Denton, who has recently been working with Stick Figure and Collie Buddz.
Indubious show a great sense for collaborations on this album. In the combination Golden Ones with dancehall icon Sizzla, the musicians have been wise to follow their own vision in rising up to the highest in these lyrics.
Don’t Lose Sleep is enriched by a contribution from Vaughn Benjamin, the voice of Akae Beka. The song is stunning, thanks to the heavy pounding of the bass. You can nearly see the huge speakers vibrating from the power of the bass waves in your mind’s eye. As the counterpart to the instrumental mash-up, Benjamin enters with his soothing beautiful voice, and brings with him harmony and inner strength.
From Zero is not just about great collaborations. Indubious creates music that could carry you away from mainstream life and take you to a world where the real values still mean something. Their songs offer serious reflections on life. The lyrics are uplifting and positive all the way. Not every song on From Zero is a highlight, but each one was selected carefully and created with a great love for melody and for the love of poetry in music.”

“From Zero is the fourth album by Southern Oregon based reggae based band Indubious. When I listened to this album it brought me back to my trips to Jamaica when I was in the military and seeing the great Bob Marley and other reggae bands. When I write the reviews I listen to the album without knowing anything about the band. After this one album I was surprised that this album was not done by Jamaicans but my two Americans out of Oregon. My favorite tracks off this album were Rocketship, If You Follow, Sheep of Conformity, Wednesday, and School Again. If you are a fan of reggae, you need to check out this album. This album was well written, performed and recorded and will be available on July 1, 2017 on Amazon, Itunes and in stores and online where available.”

JENNIFER SARAN is a North American artist, songwriter, and vocalist based in Hong Kong. In 2016, Jennifer teamed up with Narada Michael Walden (they obviously love working together) and Ladysmith Black Mambazo to create her new album’s titular single “Wake Up.” Also, making a special guest appearance on the track is multiple Grammy-winning legend Carlos Santana. This stunning collaboration is a heartfelt appeal to recognize and address worldwide inequality and impoverishment, a cause incredibly important to each of these amazing artists involved. Jennifer travelled to South Africa to record with Ladysmith and to film scenes for the song’s music video, released with the single on November 11, 2016.

MLWZ Review: Ray Vaughn “Wounded Bird”
“Ray Vaughn is a musician and working in San Francisco, “Wounded Bird” is his second solo project.
From the first sounds you hear, that we have to deal with the conscious artist who from the very beginning as defined record, has a vision and consistently implements it. It is difficult to pigeonhole in one sentence his proposals, because the next catchy guitar playing appears on the album note of nostalgia, British rock and even punk rock. Generally speaking, it is very interesting. I was looking for a long time in my mind who or what ‘smells’ the production and finally found: it Iggy Pop and stylistic areas of his work. Yes, it’s probably accurate, but also very nice trail. I like music Vaughn, she actually sounds a bit ‘dirty’, but at the same time very positively.
My favorite on the album is definitely a ballad titled “Rain”. I would recommend.”

Walk With Me by Jennifer Saran
Nice review for Jennifer Saran’s Walk With Me CD. This album was releases last year and it was great for Oasis Entertainment to review her prior release. Get her new album Wake Up July 7th!
Walk With Me is my second review for North American adult pop- adult contemporary artist, singer and songwriter Jennifer Saran. This 2016 release on the Tarpan Records label showcases Jennifer’s powerful vocals whether it is that great disco sound of the 70s and 80s or her soulful ballads. This album was produced by legendary producer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Sting). Some of my favorite songs on this eighteen track album were Where Have You Been, Sacred Lover, Sexy Time, Its Not Over, Come Home and so much more. This album was great from start to finish. Well written and well recorded. Check out this album, you will definitely like it. You can purchase this album at Amazon, Itunes, and wherever CD’s are sold.
