LINDSAY BELLOWS: WAKE TO DREAM

Translated:

 

The miracles are not out of the world. Any healthy-minded individual who dared to claim less than a few days ago that your reviewer would venture to the same R & B picture up to five times in the near future was considered ready for collocation. However, the miracle has happened. More than that, there is no “Wake to dream” of Lindsay Bellows, a young wench with dark, curling locks, who can access the CD-device on duty. Honest … although underwriting is rather R & B-unworldly (understatement), the debut of Lindsay Bellows charmed. The fact that the disc is going to be turned gray is pulled by the hair, but it can count as an approach to the genre.

But, Indubious proves that one can also accomplish beautiful things regardless of a difficult background.

If you listen to ‘See Sharp,’ you will only hear the pure sounds. You will not hear irritated lungs, on the contrary,  you will hear pure music and vocals. Yes, this album can be labeled as reggae, but it’s more than just a Jamaican rhythm. It is beautiful in how it applies several modern layers to a classic reggae rhythm.

Indubious gets help from singers Sizzla Kalonji on ‘Golden Ones’ and Vaughn Benjamin in an immersive ‘Do not Lose Sleep’. Or Zahira’s contribution to the ingenious ‘Root Down’. These American gentlemen have played West Coast Reggae and various other festivals. With some good listening you will be able to immerse yourself in the music psychedelically and spiritually. With Indubious’ reggae-layers, one can see ‘From Zero’ as a starting point in a renewed genre.”

For Immediate Release – San Francisco, CA – CORNELL “CC” CARTER will release his new album VINDICATED SOUL in stores and online worldwide on May 19, 2017. CC has been gracing stages and entertaining thousands of fans with his signature sound around the world for many years, and this new seven-song album is a tribute to the classic Soul and R&B music he grew up with. CC is known for his phenomenal stage presence, his high-powered audience engagement, and his extraordinary and dynamic vocal skills. His strong love for music developed when he was a young man growing up in a San Francisco home chock full of Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, and Gospel, which drove CC to create a musical gumbo made from ingredients from each of these strong influences.

CC says, “VINDICATED SOUL is the soundtrack of my life, which is why these songs were chosen.” The Intro track that kicks things off is a dedication to the genius of Curtis Mayfield’s “Super Fly” soundtrack, followed by the Marvin Gaye classic “All the Way Around,” written by the legendary Leon Ware. “Brothers Gonna Work It Out” and “I Choose You,” by Willie Hutch from the soundtrack of the 1973 film The Mack, are two songs that had an impact on CC at an early age. “Next to You” is a song by the group Chapter 8, which many do not realize was the backup band for the renowned Anita Baker, and CC picked Al Green’s “Look What You Done for Me” because “it is a history lesson of what Soul really is.” This remarkable collection of covers includes a classic remix of the CC original track, “Where Do We Go” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NNT7rrkE-k). Digital copies of the album will also feature the bonus track “Zoom (Fly Away Mix).”

VINDICATED SOUL was recorded at various studios in San Francisco and mastered at Trakworx. World-class players featured on the album include Melecio Magdaluyo (Pete Escovedo Orchestra – Saxophone), Niecey Robinson (Legends of Soul – Background Vocals), Ernest McKone (UK – Bass and Keys), and Kirk “KC” Crumpler (Drums, Bass, Keys). All songs were recorded with live instruments, not an easy task, but essential for the authentic sound they were able to produce.

CC was most inspired to do this album by his family, which he has always regarded his most important asset. “My Mom was the key,” says CC. “She used music to bond us, and I’m making sure I carry the torch that was handed to me.” CC received big advice from his musical brother Narada Michael Walden, who shared with him that the key to covering a great song is to “Stay true to it because of its greatness!”

CC’s first album Let’s Go Back, recorded in 1996, has recently become a classic R&B collector’s item exclusively in Japan. Following the release of his internationally acclaimed 2016 release In The Moment, CC received the UK Bright Star Award for Best Male Artist of 2016, and has gone on to put out several remixes which have received great acclaim in the US and Europe. This is the debut of the American singer-songwriter Jessica Bell. She grew up in Buffalo, New York and listened to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. She was also influenced by Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson. Jessica already acted as support of SWV, churches and clubs. After an unsuccessful relationship she decided to do what they can best, and that express themselves through music. Soon she began writing her own songs. Keys and Chords Review: E-Life 7 “Miked Up”

Guitarist Ron Walker and bassist Mike Pennick have long been friends, and writing for years ballads and R & B grooves. They are both members of The Exoutics. Now she felt it was time to bring the jazzy side up, and put Mike’s talent in the spotlight. That led to the formation E-Life 7, further comprising keyboard player Rodney Spears & Charlie Crymes Jr., drummer and percussionist Tim Webb. They received additional assistance of guest musicians such as saxophonist, singers and keyboard players. The project began released in the summer of 2012 and now their debut. Opener ‘Sunday Night’ brings cheerful, instrumental jazz funk, followed by the funky ‘Chaos’. ‘Smooth Ride’ is softer, and further is the remake of Stevie Wonder’s “That Girl.” ‘Sunrise’ is pretty smooth jazz with sax, and ‘Before The Storm’ too. The title track is again jazz funk, but ‘Beautiful Day’ goes softer against it. Still further, the second “radio edits” of Tony Rome “and” Feelin You “. Not bad, with some nice tracks.

The release ‘Day Dream’n‘ is the debut album for the American artist Omeri Monroe III. He grew up in Buffalo, New York and there was raised by his mother and godmother. “The American singer-songwriter Jordan Hurwitz was born and grew up in Redwood City, California. When she was six she started with piano lessons and at sixteen she released her first album of original songs, and since then she has not stopped. Then followed drums, vocals and guitar. She was influenced by Billy Joel, Sara Bareilles, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Kelly Clarkson. However, her debut dates back to 2013, after last year followed an EP. Her songs are an outlet to deal with the trials that people encounter every day, and overcome. This is her third project, in a production by the legendary Narada Michael Walden. This disc contains 6 original songs written and composed by Jordan. “Working with Narada is an incomparable and invaluable experience,” she said. “His talent and artistry take my music to a whole new dimension and continuing to be nothing less than amazing.” This month she graduates and starts in the autumn a new study at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
