Amanda describes her new Walking In Twos EP as music that’s “Mid-tempo, Chill-out, Electronica, Pop/Rock and World music, just a few of the cultural vibes and roots that add to the sophistication in the songwriting with lyrics for peace and equality. “I began to write songs for the record with genres of music and lyrics that I love and listen to. World instruments, trip-hop beats and flute melodies blend with my ‘pop-rock’ element of contemporary songwriting. I was influenced by Stephen Stills Feed The People song; Bob Marley’s protest songs and lyrics, Massive Attack’s down tempo beats and Jack Johnsons laid back groove style. Listening to new Arabic music from bands like Meshwar, Omar Offendum, reggae band for peace from Syria and World flute melodies from artists like Nicholas Gunn and Fairuz have brought me to a newly developing sound that really speaks to what I believe lyrically and instrumentally”. The pulse of this record is derived from Amanda’s love of World music. Also appearing on Amanda’s release is Iconic Singer Songwriter/guitarist Stephen Stills, who greatly enhanced the title song with his unique bluesy guitar performance and the Aeta children of Haduan Village in the Philippines. CD profit sales go to HelpPhilippineSchools.org
